Welcome

Since 1983, this Explorer Post has served the young adults of Coral Springs; through involvement, these future leaders learn about the exciting career of law enforcement. From riding along with police officers to directing traffic at local events, we'll outline the different areas of the Explorers program.
Welcome to the Coral Springs Police Exlorers
Meetings
Meetings are held weekly. This is where the Explorers are primarily introduced to law enforcement. At these activities, the members participate in administration and police training; this often includes: Officer safety, report writing, first aid, radio communications, domestic violence intervention, & much more.
Details
Details are generally community events, where the Explorers may provide assistance; this often includes:
Traffic control, crowd control, fingerprinting and more. At these activities, the members also have the opportunity to earn community service hours for school.
Ride Alongs
Ride alongs are where qualified Explorers ride with police officers in the field, learning first hand what law enforcement is really like.
Patrols
Patrols are where qualifying Explorers ride with post advisors in the Explorer post vehicle, providing support to the police department's Field Operations. The patrolling members often assist with:
Basic first aid, reporting suspicious persons and vehicles, missing persons, traffic control, stranded motorists, providing paperwork for patrol officers and much more.
Training Sessions
From time to time, the Explorers also have the chance to participate in additional training sessions. At these activities the members may have the opportunity to learn more in depth about a particular subject than at a regular meeting.
Competitions
Annually, our Post participates in both a Broward County Police Explorer competition and a Florida Police Explorer state competition. At these events, the Explorers utilize their training and experience in real time scenarios.
Honor Guard
Our post also has an honor guard. Our honor guard has the opportunity to participate in Miami Dolphins football games and the annual Coral Springs holiday parade.
