Welcome to the Coral Springs Fire Explorers Program

Welcome

The Coral Springs Fire Explorer Program was established in the mid
1980's as a career development program. Designed to give the city's youth a taste of what a career in Fire rescue is like, the program is aimed at high school aged youth interested in a career in the fire rescue service.

Meetings and Ride Alongs
Fire Explorers attend bi-weekly meetings where they are given real life Fire and EMS medical training by professional firefighters and paramedics. These skills get put to the test when the explorers are allowed to ride on Fire and EMS units during actual emergency calls. While on those calls, explorers are utilized to assist the fire personnel in their job functions.

Community Involvement
Fire Explorers also participate in hundreds of hours of community service
activities throughout the year. Typical activities include hurricane clean-up, fire prevention activities, and other various tasks are performed to give back to the community.

Training Sessions
Fire Explorers are trained in CPR, intermediate fire suppression activities, and a whole lot more. The training the explorers receive also proves to be extremely beneficial throughout any person's life course. Who wouldn't benefit from learning the techniques of CPR, fire suppression, emergency first aid, and more? These techniques are ones that will surely be used throught a lifetime.

We are extremely happy to say that many of our past student explorers have gone on to become paid firefighters and/ or paramedics for several local South Florida fire departments. They are now enjoying a career that is not only very fulfilling, but also very rewarding.
