Why was Student Central created?
The genesis of this project originated through information challenges identified by the Coral Springs Chamber Education Committee, a committee made up of local business owners, principals and guidance staff and city youth leadership.
By Far , the most common question from parents was "Where can my son or daughter get service hours?" We determined the existing communication methods were both outdated or ineffective. A web based hub that acted as a central source linking city, school and businesses was determined to be the most effective solution.
CS Student Central was created by Coral Springs resident and committee member, Peter Ocello and his dedicated staff at CoralSpringspages.com. The site contains not only helpful solutions for service hours but tons of useful information like scholarships, financial aid, youth events and things to do, college information, etc.
CS Student Central is a CENTRAL RESOURCE for parents & students. Spread the word, and remember we welcome all related information and community feedback!
Send us your information, thoughts & feedback!

Service Hours |
Our service hours pages consist of not only the guidelines of service hours as explained by the The School Board of Broward County, but also a constantly updated listing of as many service hour opportunities as we can dig up. On a regular basis we're making calls and sending reminder emails to local organizations reminding them to send us opportunities to post. Each of the five high schools, as well as the city of Coral Springs, is also contributing opportunities for us to post on the site.
We're in constant need of more service opportunities to post. If you're organization is approved to offer hours, send us your information!

Parent's Page |
There are so many parents of high school students in Coral Springs that don't know where to go for important information regarding their child's education. High school is an extra important time in a child's life, as this is when the "final plans" start to take shape. On our parents page we have all the information a parent would want. Content on the parent's page includes suggestions for different paths student often take after high school graduation, as well as contact information for the Brace Advisors in all five high schools in Coral Springs.
We're also inviting parents to submit and exchange ideas, stories, and past experiences. |
|
Scholarships |
On our scholarships page we will keep our students (and parents) up to date on any new available scholarships, as well as provide details for existing scholarships such as the Bright Future Scholarship. Too many students and parents are not aware of the application and continuing requirements for the Bright Futures Scholarship Program, and this is also displayed in this section of our site. There's even a direct link to apply for the Bright Futures Scholarship, as well as the toll free phone number to call with additional questions.
Anybody who has information on additional scholarships is invited to send us that information to post and share!

College Information |
We've got over two dozen Florida colleges sponsoring Student Central, many of them right here in South Florida!
If you or your child is considering college, check out what these schools have to offer... |
|
Financial Aid |
Our financial aid page will tell you what you need to know about financial aid. We'll tell you which institutions are recommended, and how to decide what financial aid, if any, is right for you. |
|
Military |
A lot of students say they might consider joining the armed forces, yet few of these students know what each division of the military offers. We are working with the local military offices on gathering information and facts about the different military divisions. Joining the military doesn't necessarily mean passing up the option of college. As a matter of fact, there are several military programs that allow students the ability to go to college while enrolled in their military program. This gives the students not only a great life experience, but also cash for college! |
|
Employment |
Because Student Central is part of CoralSpringspages.com, there are direct links on every page of Student Central taking viewers to our employment page. WorkCoralSprings.com is a very local employment resource. All job openings posted are either in Coral Springs or just outside Coral Springs. What's even better is that the majority of the jobs posted are targeted towards students and young adults. It is without a doubt the easiest way to quickly find employment in our own neighborhood.
Our employment page also allows anybody to post a job seeker listing absolutely free of charge! |
|
City Sports |
On our city sports page you will find information for all sports leagues offered by the City of Coral Springs. We've met with the Parks and Recreation department, and have been given all necessary information to guide our residents in the right direction when looking to inquire or sign up for athletic leagues. There is a ton of sports leagues offered in Coral Springs and we have worked hard to put everything together in one easy place. |
|
Recreation |
With the help of the city's Parks and Recreation department, we will be posting information regarding recreation in Coral Springs. We'll have a map of all city parks, as well as a list of "things to do" including city organizations that involve teens. Other items on the list will include fun teen places that offer bowling, skating, golf, dance, billiards, fitness and more.
We're also inviting anybody to send us recreational information to share with others in the community. |
