Are you looking for a dentist that will take care of all your needs and will create your new smile?

Dr. Forero is a dentist that loves what he does in all areas of dentistry.

He has expanded his education far and beyond general dentistry. His expertise, education and experience assures the best quality treatment.

Example: Somebody that has not been able to take care of his/her teeth in a long time. This patient might need root canal treatments, implant placement and implant crowns, extractions and maybe even partial to full dentures connected to implants.

Instead of Dr. Forero sending this patient around the city to get his root canals and implants with different doctors, he does everything in one place.

Offering all of these services under one roof enables us to eliminate the confusion and mistakes associated with multiple referrals to other offices. We believe the old adage “too many chefs spoil the brew”. Most procedures can be performed in our office, which many of our patients call their “one stop shop for dentistry”.

Our staff

We work with a small staff of caring professionals including Eliana Cunningham, our receptionist, Sandra Forero, our office manager, Ana Maria Berovides and TerryAnn Munet our Chairside Dental Assistants, Alexandra Olivo-Seara and Elizabeth Hoafat, our Dental Hygienists.
We pride ourselves in having worked together for many years. We believe in being courteous to each other as well as to our patients, which not only eliminates employee turnover, but creates a friendly and comfortable atmosphere for our patients.

Dr William Forero invites you to experience our great family of professionals and our caring atmosphere.

General dentistry

Prevention - the importance of this area of dentistry cannot be overstated. Our mouth is a pathway to the rest of our body and dental conditions can affect our medical health. A healthy mouth can also lead to a healthier body. Our dental hygienists will teach you excellent prevention techniques as well as keep your teeth sparkling clean. Regular cleanings are an integral part of your dental health.

Oral Medicine - a specialty area of dentistry based upon a sound understanding of pathophysiology of oral disease and medical-dental relationships.  We pride ourselves in understanding the nature and management of any diseases affecting your oral and maxillofacial region.

Oral Pathology - the inside of the mouth is normally lined up with special type of skin (mucosa) that is smooth and coral pink in color.  Any alteration in this appearance could be a warning sign for a pathological process and this is where we come in - if you feel that you or someone you know have any of the symptoms of oral pathology or if you have any questions and/or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask our office so we may be of some assistance to you.

Cosmetic dentistry

A beautiful smile tells the whole world that you're special -someone worth knowing, loving, remembering. It celebrates your charisma, and whispers your more intimate feelings.

Yellowed, stained, chipped, misshapen, or poorly spaced teeth can spoil this picture, affecting the way even you feel about yourself. Today's porcelain veneering and bonding can virtually change your appearance, usually in just a few comfortable visits. Bleaching, tooth-coloring fillings, and other cosmetic procedures play their part too.

Restorative dentistry

For most fillings on back teeth we use a natural looking, cosmetic resin.  This is a strong, plastic material that is easy to apply and difficult to detect.  This material produces a long lasting, natural looking filling.

When the size of a cavity is too large for this material, we are then able to use ceramic, tooth colored partial crowns called onlays.  These onlays are made in 2 visits to the office and are also a durable, cosmetic solution.

Crowns and Bridges
We can replace large, worn-out fillings with natural-looking, ceramic crowns. These state-of-the-art, high strength, metal-free crowns will restore damaged teeth and eliminate dark areas at the gum line to provide a completely natural-looking appearance.  Porcelain to gold crowns are also available and my be indicated in some circumstances.

We can replace missing teeth with permanent bridges which look, feel and function like natural teeth or with implants which are the ultimate in tooth replacements.

With new materials now available we can create beautiful results for:

  • Spaces Between the Teeth (Diastemas)
  • Unnatural Porcelain-to-Metal Crowns
  • Dark Lines at the Gum Line of Crowns
  • Broken or Chipped Teeth
  • Unsightly, Stained or Washed-Out Fillings
  • Permanently Discolored Old Fillings
  • Misshapen or Crooked Teeth
  • Missing Teeth
  • Other Esthetic Services
  • Fillings
  • Bridges
Implant Dentistry

In many situations, dental implants can give back patients their confident smile.  The benefits are improved esthetics, the ability to eat comfortably and a clean, healthy oral environment for the patient.

There are many different types of dental implants available.  Dr. Forero has extensive experience in dental implants and would be pleased to discuss the benefits of implant prosthetics with you.  Ask about implant restorative treatment at the time of your consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Q. What are dental implants?

A. Dental implants are basically sophisticated screws made of a medically pure metal, Titanium. These screws are then placed in the jaw bone and rest under the gum for 3 - 6 months. During this time they actually fuse to the jawbone and become osseo(bone) integrated. After the appropriate healing time, we uncover the implants and use them to replace one or more missing teeth by fabricating some sort of dental prosthesis.

Q. Who is the ideal patient for dental implants?

A. Anyone in reasonable health who wants to replace missing teeth. You must have enough bone in the area of the missing teeth to provide for the anchorage of the implants. Almost everyone today is an excellent candidate for dental implants to replace small bridges, removable partial dentures and even just one missing single tooth.

Q. What are implants made of?

A. Implants are made of commercially and medically pure Titanium. This is the same metal that has been successfully used in hip implants for many years. It is inert and is not known to cause any type of rejection phenomenon.

Q. Can implants be rejected?

A. No! They are made of an inert metal which has no history of rejection by the body. They are not a living organ such as the lung or liver and therefore there is no rejection phenomenon. If failure should occur, and this is only a remote possibility, it is mechanical in nature and not due to rejection by the body. By the way, depending on the source you read, implants are anywhere from 85-95 percent successful depending upon certain factors such as implant location, amount and quality of bone etc. These factors will be evaluated before we place your implants. If you have any questions regarding this or any other aspect of the implant process, ask Dr. Forero.

Q. What about infections and complications?

A. During the surgery every attempt is made to maintain a totally sterile field. This tends to minimize any potential for postoperative infection. Once again, Dr. Black will prescribe the appropriate antibiotics as a precautionary measure. Once the implants have been engaged in your prosthesis, it is imperative for you to maintain scrupulous oral hygiene.

Q. Will I be able to chew and function normally?

A. Yes. Once your implants have integrated, you will be able to function normally without any unusual sensations. Your chewing ability will really depend upon the type of prosthesis you have chosen.

Q. How long is the entire implant process?

A. Dental implants take approximately 3-4 months in the lower jaw and 6 months in the upper to integrate. Once integrated, it takes several visits to several months to complete the restoration depending upon the complexity.
